Corinne was getting her hair done when she and Mel slipped into one of their first deep conversations—about faith, purpose, and the Book of Genesis (Mel’s favorite). Somewhere in the middle of it, Mel mentioned her middle name. Corinne paused. It was the same as her mother’s. Her mom had passed away in 2013, but in that quiet moment, something clicked. It felt like more than coincidence. It felt like her mom had whispered, “Pay attention.” That’s when Corinne knew—this was more than a spark. This was something real. Mel didn’t know the weight that name carried, but she noticed the shift—the way Corinne looked at her, the stillness between them. She just smiled, gentle and open. That moment stayed with us both.

June 6, 2016 — Mel’s Birthday

Corinne went all out: grilled chicken, homemade enchiladas, beans, rice, mojitos—the works. It was our first “real” date, and it felt like home.

We made it official at Corinne’s apartment. That date—11/11—became a symbol of us. Every day since, whenever we see 11:11, we stop and send up a prayer. It's more than a number. It's our reminder that this love is divinely timed and deeply chosen.

2017–2024 — Our Middle Chapter

We moved in together, met each other’s families, and started new traditions—like making the holidays feel magical and joyfully honoring Corinne’s mom each year.

We go on adventure dates twice a month. We say our 11:11 prayers. We laugh a lot.

Somewhere in all that, we built a life that feels like love.

After months of dropping hints (Corinne’s finger was “itching”), Mel kept it chill… until the day after Thanksgiving. She told Corinne she had something important to ask. Corinne, naturally, panicked and cooked a full dinner. Mel came home, pulled out the ring, and popped the question. Corinne said yes—very loudly.

Mel brings the calm, and Corinne brings the sparkle (and the chaos). Together, we’re goofy, grounded, romantic, and real. From line dancing in the living room to deep spiritual conversations, our love is sacred, silly, and full of light. Forever sounds exactly like our vibe.
